Creativity requires clarity

Your desk is a sacred temple. It operates on a certain energy level. If you hate your job your desk serves either as a reminder or as a distractor. On the other hand, if you love what you do, your desk turns into an oasis where you disconnect yourself from “reality” and generate endless ideas and work on endless projects.
I loved researching writer desks. I checked a lot of tables that today are considered to be the holy grail of literature. Hugo loved writing on his feet. No chair. Some gossip says he love no clothing rule as well. Just a scarf and ink. Tolstoy’s table was as big as his teachings. Dostoyevsky also had a big perimeter on his desk. Dickens’ table is as gigantic as an industrial England. Jack London’s table is a hub of ideas.
And then there is Jane Austin’s table which is round shaped and little where there is no extra space. You doubt if it is a writing table at all. But she sure knew how to benefit from it.
My desk is new. It has hosted me since this August. I completed two different manuscripts on it. It is ergonomic and friendly. It has many reminders and many elements which make me go for the next run.
In a sense it is therapeutic.

I meditate while writing.
